Museum of Science

“Along with over 700 interactive exhibits, the museum features a number of live presentations throughout the building every day, along with shows at the Charles Hayden Planetarium and the Mugar Omni Theater, the only domed IMAX screen in New England.” (Wikipedia). The Museum of Science presents an infinite variety of concepts in engaging and understandable ways. It is truly a wonderful and often jaw-dropping experience.

New England Sci-Tech

New England Sci-Tech is a non-profit STEM+ education center and makerspace dedicated to project-based, hands-on learning for youth and families across the New England community. They offer classes and workshops in electronics, space science, ham radio, astronomy, robotics, photography, coding, computers, Arduinos, game theory, 3D design, spooky music, wearable technology, telescope making, Cubes-in-SpaceTM, kite making, battlin’ bots, and more. They even recently hosted an event where they spoke with astronauts aboard the International Space Station!

Boston STEM Lab

Boston Stem Lab focuses on teaching science concepts to younger kids. For kids ages 3-6, there is an in-person stem lab guided by Dr. Eugenia Rojas Puente, where parents can bring their kids to bond and introduce them to the world of science. They also sell an online self-paced Pre-School Curriculum consisting of 6 lessons per season with classes in music, art, poetry, and STEM.

Code Chef

Code Chef is fun for all ages with lessons for both kids and adults. Operating out of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, code chef teaches essential computer skills while also providing a creative play center and a facility for inventors to experiment with ideas. For children, classes in coding, math, and chess are available and for adults, more advanced courses in programming as well as professional boot camps are offered.

Empow Studios

Located in Lexington and Newton, Empow Studios offers many classes both in person and online. These classes range from coding and game design to digital art and model architecture.“Today, hands-on, creative, interactive play takes place in digital, virtual, and robotic environments, and can carve out potential future pathways for learning. Empow Studios supports not only active participation and developing literacy in that playground, but also social collaboration, self-actualization, and creativity. Empowering kids means giving them the tools not only to navigate their future landscapes, but be active and intentional creators of it.”
